Navy Women's Lacrosse to Premiere in 2008
Already a participant in 18 Patriot League sports, Navy will add another to that list as it has elevated its club women's lacrosse team to varsity status for the 2008 spring season. Cindy Timchal, former head coach at Maryland (1991-2006), will lead the Mids in their inaugural women's lacrosse season in the Patriot League. Timchal is the all-time winningest coach in women's lacrosse history and won eight national titles with the Terps. Navy women's lacrosse will play a full club schedule this spring, including games against a number of varsity programs. Navy now fields 31 varsity sports, making it one of the largest athletic programs in the country.
