Joanna Kreps
Kreps was promoted to Associate Executive Director for Sports Management and Governance/Senior Woman Administrator in July of 2006 after joining the Patriot League in December 2004 as an Assistant Executive Director. She is primarily responsible for overseeing the work of the League's 23 sports committees and governance process, including providing leadership for coaches' and administrative meetings, developing and implementing sport regulations, developing League schedules and assisting with conduct of League championships. She also represents the League on the NCAA Division I Legislative Council and the NCAA Green Team. Kreps began a Patriot League Team Green committee to focus on environmental protection and promotion through athletics, and also works with the Patriot League Sportsmanship Committee. Kreps will serve as a co-chair of the Collegiate Commissioners Association Compliance Administrators for 2008-09. Prior to joining the Patriot League, Kreps served as the Assistant Commissioner for Compliance and Business Operations and Senior Woman Administrator for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. In her post at the RMAC she coordinated NCAA and RMAC compliance among the 14-member institutions and managed the internal fiscal operations of the conference office. She was the liaison to the seven conference coordinators of officials and assisted in the administration of the officiating programs, created conference schedules and directed the National Letter of Intent Program and coaches certification testing. She worked with the RMAC senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives and the RMAC Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Kreps also assisted with championship event administration as well as conference meetings, the RMAC Hall of Fame, officiating clinics, the RMAC golf outing and the Wells Fargo SHOOTOUT (RMAC basketball tournament). Kreps also spent time assisting with compliance at the University at Albany (N.Y.), where her main responsibility was determining and maintaining NCAA Division I eligibility for 19 male and female varsity programs for over 450 student-athletes. Also, while at Albany, she served as Co-Coordinator of the SEFA/United Way Campaign for over 5,000 University at Albany state employees. Kreps is a graduate of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators Institute (NACWAA/HERS 2002) and the inaugural Leadership Enhancement Institute (NACWAA/HERS Level II 2007). She currently serves as a member of the NACWAA Awards Committee and previously served on the NCAA Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Committee. Kreps is a 1997 graduate of the University at Albany, where she majored in English and earned a Bachelor's Degree. She played on the Albany women's basketball team and earned a Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies in 1999.
