Patriot League Women's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll 
Center Valley, Pa. - One hundred and one student-athletes, including Scholar-Athlete of Year Kelly Zahalka of Navy, have been named to the 2008 Patriot League Women's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll, Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich announced on Tuesday.
Zahalka's spot on the Academic Honor Roll caps an impressive list of accomplishments for the academic year. In addition to earning her second consecutive Patriot League Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, Zahalka was named an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-America and All-District selection and was one of 65 national recipients of a 2008 Truman Scholarship. Zahalka recorded a 4.00 grade-point average in the spring semester, and has posted the perfect mark during all six of her semesters at Navy. Zahalka earns her third selection to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Zahalka is one of 10 students named to the Academic Honor Roll after recording a 4.00 GPA in the spring semester. Allison Aichelle, Jamie Call and Sarah Duffy joined their teammate by posting the mark from Navy, while Bucknell's Abigail Paules, Nikki Seaman and Eliza Massie, Holy Cross' Erica Archer and Lafayette's Lindsay Grimes and Lindsay Messina also compiled the mark.
In addition to being part of the group with a 4.00 GPA, Zahalka is also one of 20 All-Patriot League selections to earn Academic Honor Roll status. The First-Team All-Patriot League honorees on the list include Zahalka, Tara Chapmon and Katie Griffin from Navy, Lauren Russell, Megan Mongan and Kristen Skroski from Bucknell, Caren Guyett from Colgate and Meghan Thiel from American.
Bucknell and Lafayette led the way with 20 selections to the Women's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll list. American, Colgate, Holy Cross and Lehigh all had double-digit selections.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
