Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll
Center Valley, Pa. - Sixty-one student-athletes were named to the 2008 Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll, Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich announced on Wednesday.
The group includes one player that notched a grade-point average of 4.0 or better, as Army junior Tyler Anderegg posted a 4.021 GPA in the spring semester as a Life Science major. Six student-athletes received a spot on the Academic Honor Roll after also earning All-Patriot League status, including Navy senior Thomas Hamilton and Bucknell sophomore John Avanzino who earned First-Team All-League recognition.
Patriot League champion Bucknell led all schools with 19 selections to the Baseball Academic Honor Roll, while Lafayette placed 15 and Holy Cross also finished with double-digit selections with 10.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
