Navy Men's Soccer Releases Promotion Schedule

Aug. 5, 2008

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men’s soccer team has announced its promotion schedule for the upcoming 2008 season. The team will play seven home games and at least one promotion or ticket offer is available for each game.

The Mids will kick off their season on Friday, August 29, against St. Francis (N.Y.), beginning at 7:00 pm. A family can purchase four tickets, four drinks and four hot dogs for just $20 and all fans that purchase a ticket to Friday’s game will receive a free ticket to Sunday’s noon game against Saint Mary’s. There are several promotions involved for the Sunday, Aug. 31, game against Saint Mary’s, including the popular “Meet the Mids” — a postgame autograph session with the members of the Navy soccer team. Other promotions include a camper reunion day, in which former Navy campers receive free admission, and a post-game clinic held by members of the team.

When the Mids battle George Washington on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7:00 pm, all tickets will be available for purchase for just $2. The game is being billed as Youth Soccer Night, where kids can receive a free Navy soccer T-shirt while supplies last.

A doubleheader with the women’s team on Oct. 4, is the feature attraction for the Lehigh contest. The women’s team will kick off at noon against Patriot League rival Bucknell. That game will be followed by the men’s team battling Lehigh. The game will mark the premier of the “Navy Nation” tailgate, where fans can enjoy all the festivities of a tailgate, but at a soccer game. There will be an inflatable game obstacle course for youths and members of the Billy the Kid Club will receive free admission and special benefits. Following the game, the second installment of “Meet the Mids” will take place, where fans can get the autographs of their favorite Navy soccer players.

On Tuesday, October 7, fans can purchase tickets for just $2. The Mids will host regional rival Longwood that night, beginning at 7:00 pm. For the Saturday, Oct. 25, contest against Colgate, fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for just $20. The game will be played prior to the SMU football game (3:30 pm), making it a great opportunity for a Navy doubleheader.

Lastly, Navy’s seniors will be honored on Nov. 1, against Lafayette (noon) as part of Senior Day festivities. In addition to Senior Day, as part of Scout Day, boy scouts that show their Temple football game ticket (3:30 pm that same day) can gain free admission to the soccer game.

Season tickets for all Navy home games (men and women; 17 games in all) are just $60 for adults and $30 for youth (17 & under). For ticket information, please call 1-800-US4-NAVY.
