2008 Patriot League Women's Basketball Academic Honor Roll
Center Valley, Pa. - Forty-five student-athletes were placed on the 2008 Patriot League Women's Basketball Academic Honor Roll, announced Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich Monday. Bucknell's Joyce Novacek stood out on this year's list as the only student-athlete to obtain a 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester.
Also a member of this year's academic honor roll is American's Liz Hayes who was named the Patriot League Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second season in a row. Hayes was a public communications major who boasted a 3.90 GPA for the spring semester.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
