LEWISBURG, Pa. - Hope Foster, a 2008 Bucknell graduate and a three-time First Team All-Patriot League selection, will continue her basketball career on the professional level this year. The Washington, D.C., native recently signed a professional contract with the USC Freiburg Basketball Club in Germany.

Foster will report to her new team in late August for the 2008-09 campaign. USC Freiburg advanced to the semifinals of the DBBL playoffs in 2008 before falling to eventual champion Wasserburg 2-0 in a best-of-three series.

The 2007 Patriot League Player of the Year, Foster concluded her impressive Bison career 18th in NCAA history with 344 blocked shots and broke the Bucknell record for rebounds, pulling down 904 in her impressive career. She was the 2006 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and was a member of the 2005 Patriot League Rookie Team.

Foster finished her career among Bucknell's all-time leaders in rebounding (904, 1st), blocked shots (344, 1st), games played (120, t-1st), field goals made (491, 8th), scoring (1,256, 9th), free throws made (273, 9th), free throw attempts (394, 9th), field goal attempts (1,074, 11th).

A team co-captain in 2007-08, Foster helped the Bison to 64 wins over her four years, the fourth-most victories in any four-year span in program history. Additionally, Foster was a key member of Bucknell's second-ever NCAA Tournament team that faced North Carolina in the first round of this past March's NCAA Tournament.

Foster concluded her time in Orange and Blue with career averages of 10.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.

Foster is the latest in a line of Bison to ink professional contracts. Among the most notable in recent years have been 2004 graduate Desire Almind and 2003 graduate Molly Creamer. Creamer recently joined a first division team in Italy after a number of seasons playing in Israel, France and Hungary.
